North Somerset Hotel Supports Run
All Change For The Future
One of North Somerset’s top hotels is to ask its guests to help fund research into the early diagnosis and treatment of a disease that claims more than 10,000 lives a year.
Cadbury House Hotel, Health Club and Spa is supporting Run for the Future, which raises money for the Bristol Urological Institute’s Prostate Cancer Appeal.
General Manager, Mark Hands, said: “Run for the Future does a tremendous job raising awareness of prostate cancer and helping fund cutting edge research. If our support can help save just one life then it’s worth it.”
Prostate Cancer affects more than 35,000 men every year in the UK with more than 10,000 of them dying. The BUI and University of the West of England is working on a joint research project, which it’s hoped will lead to the introduction of a national screening programme and save thousands of lives.
Cadbury House will ask every guest staying at the hotel to put their spare change in special Run for the Future envelopes and is also be planning a series of charity events with its sports club members.
Run for the Future, which is sponsored by Spire Hospital and the James Tudor Foundation, is organised by Bristol Rotarians and this year’s 5km event takes place on the Downs in Bristol on Sunday, 20 September.
Over the last three years the Run has raised over £130,000 towards vital research. For further information or to register to take part visit www.runforthefuture.org or ring the Run for the Future Office on 0117 959 6328.
